About Caney Spring
Our Story
Caney Spring United Methodist Church traces its roots to Allen's Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church, founded in 1831 on Verona Caney Road. In 1887, the congregation moved to its present location on Highway 99, built the current sanctuary, and became known as Caney Spring Methodist Episcopal Church.
For nearly two centuries, generations of families have gathered here to worship God, celebrate life's joys, support one another through challenges, and serve the community. While much has changed since 1831, our commitment to sharing God's love remains the same.
Today, Caney Spring United Methodist Church continues to seek God's leading as we worship, learn, serve, and grow together in faith.

We are a small congregation with deep roots and a hopeful vision for the future. At Caney Spring UMC, we believe faith is meant to be lived, questions are welcome, and God's grace is available to all.
We seek to follow Jesus through worship, service, compassion, and community. Whether you have been part of the church for decades or are visiting for the first time, there is a place for you here.

Caney Spring UMC is part of The United Methodist Church, a global denomination rooted in the teachings of John Wesley. United Methodists emphasize God's grace, personal and social holiness, and the call to love our neighbors through acts of compassion, justice, and service.
We believe faith is not simply something we believe but something we live.

Reconciling Ministries Network
Caney Spring United Methodist Church is a Reconciling Ministries Network congregation. This means we have publicly committed ourselves to welcoming and affirming people of all sexual orientations and gender identities into the full life and ministry of the church.
We believe every person is created in the image of God and is worthy of love, dignity, belonging, and spiritual community.

Looking Ahead
As we approach our third century of ministry, we remain committed to sharing the love of Christ in Marshall County, TN, and beyond. We honor the faith of those who came before us while seeking new ways to serve our neighbors, build community, and participate in God's work in the world.
